Submissions are now open for World of Coffee Berlin 2019. All proposals must be submitted by Friday March 29, 2019

Lecture Proposal Submissions

  • Speakers may submit multiple proposals but will be limited to two (2) lectures per event.

  • After the proposal is accepted, speaker substitutions/additions must be requested and communicated in writing and approved.

  • The Lectures Management Team reserves the right to help identify an appropriate speaker/co-speaker or reject a previously accepted lecture based on speaker changes. For changes and additions please e-mail Heather Ward at lectures@sca.coffee

Lecture Content and Required Documents

  • Marketing and promotion of commercial products or services is strictly prohibited - the intent of the program is to provide quality lectures focused on educational content, free from commercial influence or bias.  For this same reason, all lecture presentations and materials must adhere to SCA logo and copyright policies

  • Speakers will be asked to create a visual presentation that is appropriate for the session (i.e. PowerPoint, Prezi, Keynote).

  • It is recommended that each lecture should include a handout that is either 1) a summary of key points, or 2) a list of resources or key tips/practices etc.

  • Speakers must provide their own laptop computer or comparable a/v presentation device for the presentation.

Cancellation Policy

Please do not submit a proposal if you are uncertain as to whether you will be able to fulfill your obligations to organize and present the lecture.

Selection Process

The SCA appreciates the time and energy that all applicants put into the development of their lecture proposals. Each proposal is individually read and rated based on such factors as (but not limited to) speaker credentials, relevance, originality, and learning objectives. Speakers may submit multiple proposals but will be limited to (2) lectures per event. Decision notifications will be sent out via email to the designated primary contact no later than April 26, 2019.

Not all proposals are accepted - there are always more positively rated proposals than there are lecture slots available. Those with the highest rankings within the corresponding category are accepted to fill available timeslots.

All proposals must be submitted by Friday March 29, 2019
